Your investment options

As a member of a workplace pension plan, you are an investor. As an investor, you can choose from the various investment options available under the BNP Paribas Pension, where your contributions and savings are invested.

The default investment and other lifestyle strategies

When you joined the BNP Paribas Pension, your contributions were initially invested for you in the Plan’s default investment - the Drawdown Lifestyle.

The Drawdown Lifestyle is a lifestyle strategy type of investment that changes the way your savings are invested as you get closer to retirement. There are also  two other lifestyle strategies available to you under the Plan too.

Watch the videos below to understand how these lifestyle strategies change your investments as you get nearer to your retirement date and the costs to you as an investor.

Choosing your own investments

You are free to choose your own selection of funds through the ‘self-select’ option which means you will be responsible for choosing and managing your own investments.

Please remember, that if you're not sure what investments are most suitable for your retirement plans, you should consider taking authorised financial advice.

The fund factsheets

Each investment option has a fund factsheet on PlanViewer which contains detailed information such as the investment objective, risk rating and costs to you as an investor.

What's the difference between the default investment and the self-select funds?

The default investment, the Drawdown Lifestyle is the 'hands-off' way of investing where the decisions are made for you.

But if you want more involvement with where your pension savings are invested, you can choose the funds yourself, from the range available through the BNP Paribas Pension.

This is called ‘self-select’ and it allows you to tailor an investment strategy to your particular long-term goals. Each investment fund has its own factsheet, and you always have the option of asking a financial adviser to help you choose if you are unsure of the best options for you and your individual circumstances.
